Teachings of today happened in the dance studio, in the hallways and in the office.

'Baby class' is all about learning to copy a movement. In a class plays music of a cutest carousel you can imagine. Also the attendees are from the same cutie-puff-pie postcard where you pictured the carousel. There is marching, bread making movement and side rolls. There are many moments of learning to pay attention and focus. Once and once again. Participants are from three to four years old. The task of art teacher is to be a meditative person with mental endurance. Cutie-puff-pies are charming, happy and energetic. Over and over again by repetition there is a success with getting the kids stay in a pointed place. At times there needs to be the volume raised over speaking voice to get the point out. 

Art teacher makes an eye contact, gets the attention and delivers the message. If repetition is needed it will be there.

Working in visual arts class is a different scenario even when the participants are similar age to 'baby class'. Encouragement and presence from teacher is needed. The adults example to open the wrapping of a chalk colour takes the process one step towards independency. Third and fourth chalk colours are wrapped open by the kid.

Art teachers position is to bring the idea, make the situation possible for art making and bring the aim and equipment for this. Teachers task is to witness the process and to give space for artists.

Dance teacher shows the example, the guides by words and by touch. I accompanied Carolinas ballet class for group g3. A smile and a nice tone in voice makes students agreeable for Carolinas guidance. A laugh in a class is always a plus.
